Like most cats, our cat likes to sit by the window, sunny days especially. She sits right behind the monitor, so unless you know she is there, you might miss her. Our pretty black kitty doesn’t always see eye to eye with our brown and white newf. The newf wants to play and the cat rarely does. She will on occasion just go up to say hi and be a very friendly kitty. That is really occasionally so far. We hope she learns to get better along.

Now, the other day, the cat came out to say hi as I was working on one of our websites. She realized that the newf was over in the kitchen checking out what was going on there. She did the kitty crawl to see if the newf had noticed her. Nope, newf hadn’t seen her. Yet. She ventured further out on the desk when the newf girl happily came over wagging her tail. “Kitty!! Kitty want to play???” Oh the kitty did so not want to play. She did however, want to go racing full speed in front of me across the desk with claws out for traction. Eeeek!!!! I moved on time and someone had closed the door to the basement, so she couldn’t run down there. Well, we kept our feet off the floor as the newf ran after the kitty thinking the kitty was playing. The kitty on the other hand was growling like a dog. Well, and then other times she just be coming up to the newf to say hi and be super nice.

The newf-cat friendship still needs some work as you can see.

Yesterday we were in the front yard enjoying the (for here) nice weather. There was still a big patch of snow on there and of course the newf placed herself right there while she was watching who might pass by. I brought my sketch book so I tried to draw her and as soon as she noticed (which naturally didn’t take her long), she started posing. How about I keep my head like this? No? Perhaps, put the paw this way? …. Yep, I grabbed the camera later for reference pictures. Here is the quick sketch in case you want to see.
